Judy, another dog hero

Wow, Mom and I just read about another dog hero. I don't know if she's a famous dog but she definitely should be.

Her name was Judy, an English Pointer. She was a Navy dog that became the only official dog prisoner of war in Japan during WWII. She helped save the crew after their ship was marooned on a Pacific island.

The Japanese captured the crew (including Judy) and took them to Gloergoer POW camp. They beat her and and repeatedly threatened to kill her. However, giving birth to a litter of puppies saved her life. She was imprisoned from 1942 to the end of the war in 1945.

Her Navy friend, Frank Williams, adopted her and she lived with him until her death in 1950.

Judy is featured in a new book, Animal Heroes, by David Long. Mom is going to buy a copy to read to me.

The photo is from the book.

My New Book

It's out! Yippee! My tail is wagging!

Famous Dogs: Changing History One Dog (& Cat) at a Time is available on Kindle. Don't know for sure what Kindle is, but Mom said it's good.

Next to the great dogs I wrote about, the best news is that my name is on the cover. Check it out on Amazon.

It's so much fun to be an author and it's special to write about the dogs and the cat in this book.
