Medicine Problems

I woke up one morning and I couldn't see straight. The world was going all topsy-turvy. What an awful feeling! When I feel bad, I always want Dad to hold me.

After I got up, I ran into the couch a few times, Mom finally noticed that something wasn't right. I could tell they both worried about me. I didn't understand most of what they said, but they gave me lots of love and attention. They even offered me treats but I didn't feel like eating.

I take medicine. Mom and Dad think I don't know it's medicine but I do. I just like the bread and peanut butter enough to put up with that vile tasting stuff. I think they ran out of it because I didn't get it for a few days.

Then I had a doctor's appointment and Dad started giving me the new stuff. I think that was the problem. Mom talked on the phone several times - I think it was my doctor. Anyway, they quit giving me that yucky medicine. It took me a long time to get back to normal. Now I feel like eating and playing. I don't want to go through that again.

Note from Mom: We changed suppliers for Luke's medicine, Ivertec. The veterinarian forgot to tell us that the old medicine had been diluted, the new medicine wasn't and we needed to cut the dosage by 80%. We gave Luke two doses before we noticed his behavior. He did get recover but it took about five days and really scared us. I can't imagine how frightening it was for him.
